How I Went From Working At UPS to My work at home employment

May 13th, 2009

For the longest time, I hated school, but loved sports. I got in all kinds of trouble as a kid because I was playing football in the yard, and not doing my homework. Well, one night, the 17 year old kid down the block, who had no business playing with us fell on top of me in the street, breaking my arm. After going to the doctor and all to fix the arm, I got interested in sports medicine, because I was impressed with how it all worked. That’s why I am in sports medicine now.

Right after high school, I had a friend of mine who hooked me up with UPS. It was awesome. I was 17, and I was making like $14 per hour. I worked in the warehouse from 4:00am – 10:00am, went to school from 11:30am – 3:00pm and it all worked out pretty cool. My goal was to be a driver, because that’s where the money was – like $40 an hour! After you became a driver, you could buy your own truck, and hire the drivers, adding more to the money you could make,.

After 3 years with them, I was about to take my driver’s test and get my CDL, but guess what. They laid me off – right before the holidays. It was the economy, according to them.

So, now I’m like, “What am I gonna do now?” I told my parents that I heard you can make money with your computer at home. They just laughed at me, and said they were scams, and I was only dreaming.

I looked into numerous work at home employment opportunities. They were all scams, you could just tell. I wondered if there were any legitimate home based businesses I could get into. When I was about to give up, I found another site which seemed honest – which was rare for this type of thing.

They pretty much told you that you can make money, but it all depends on how hard you work. They’ll give you the information to hook you up, but you need to do it. You don’t do anything, you don’t get paid. You won’t get rich quick, and they tell you that.

I was skeptical about it, but I went ahead and paid the money for the info. Since then, I’m making close to what I made at UPS, about $2875 a month. It’s not a whole lot, but at least I’m not searching for a job, and the bills are getting paid on time again.

As work at home employment sites go, these guys are legit, and they take good care of you. If you want to make some extra money you need to check it out. It’s a decent way to make some extra spending money. You could probably make more than me, because I’m pretty lazy LOL.

Work At Home Employment:The Good and Bad

May 12th, 2009

It’s important to acknowledge that there are work at home employment listing sites out there. You can sign up with them if you’d like, but the saying about getting something for nothing applies.
Is it possible to get legit work that way? Sure, but you’ll need to wade through lists of utter nonesense, and in some cases just total garbage.
What you want to look for are sites that filter this garbage as a service. One of those sites are listed to the right in the “about me” area. What sets them apart is they take the time to screen each of the jobs to make sure that they are of good quality.
What you won’t get is crappy paid surveys, or any scams at all. This will save you a lot of time. Also because it isn’t free, there isn’t a deluge of people reading the same things you are, and therefore there will be more opportunities that aren’t already taken.
I got caught up in a few of those. They’ll have you fill in surveys alright, but what you don’t find out until it’s too late is that your pay is like $.10 cents per survey. So you have to sometimes to hundreds of them just to make a lousy $10.   Oh, and you only get access to a few surveys a day or sometimes week.  I ran into a lot of situations like that as well. Don’t make the same mistake I did. More info to come!

Do Real Work At Home Employment Opportunities Really Exist?

May 7th, 2009

Hello, my name is Tom Bartell, and I created this blog to talk about work at home employment opportunities you see advertised everywhere on TV and the internet. So many people are scared of them, calling them scams, so I figured I might bite the bullet and look into them. You can tell by just looking at a lot of them or by reading the first sentence whether they are real.

I had nothing to lose, because I got laid off from my warehouse job at UPS – that wasn’t too much fun lemme tell ya. With the job market the way it was then, there was nothing practical for me to do, so I decided to look into these things to see if any of them worked.

Guess what? A lot of what I ran into were awful scams. They promised that you would get rich and all that garbage. Having a home based business seems cool and all, but when these guys are not offering anything legitimate it is really hard to find such opportunities.

All of these companies had the same thing in common. They all promised to make me rich overnight, promised I would make like $8000 a month in just a few weeks, working only 3 hours a day. Now, if this was really the case, you’re probably thinking like me, wouldn’t everyone be doing this? I mean, we’d be seeing people all over working for this company, right?
